Oakridge was an excellent first experience for my 5 year old daughter! She did the summer horse camp and I felt comfortable leaving her there 9am-12pm each day because she was in good hands (and hooves)! Kelsey, Kirby and all her helpers were so knowledgable, professional, friendly, and caring, the barn was clean, organized and safe. The horses are calm, well trained, healthy looking and they supplied all the boots, helmet, supplies. I can't say enough good about this place...great choice for beginner or any level! Pilar H.
I think I went to every barn imaginable and found Oakridge Riding Club to be the best. Kelsey and Kirby are awesome trainers! I love how they paired me up with different horses depending on my skill. Their explanations prior to and during lessons make complete sense and they never ask me to do something that I'm not comfortable doing.They have lessons during the week and on Saturday, and Kelsey will always give me a heads up via text, email or even a phone call about the availability for me and my son. My 5 year old son has taken lead line lessons with them as well as attended their winter camp. By the time the winter session was over he was already posting! The children ride for a pretty long time and then do a lot of fun, horse related things like hosing down the horses or helping to feed them. They also have fantastic crafts which was the highlight of my son's day lol. It is definitely worth the money! Speaking of money, their rates are the best as well. You really do get the better deal with packages and no other barn can beat their camp prices. We're so happy to be a part of place! Caroline C.
Our 12 year old daughter has been riding here for almost a year. Since day 1, she has felt very confident and safe around the awesome horses that Kelsey and Kirby have at the ORC. They have the most gentle and patient horses around. Kelsey and Kirby also have a very patient and laid back attitude that makes a beginner feel welcome and at ease. Never has my daughter felt like she was being pushed too hard, but at the same time, they offer amazing instruction on riding, horsemanship and safety that left us feeling like we had chosen a great place for our daughter to learn to ride. The prices are very affordable and the quality is top notch. Whether it be the casual rider, like my daughter is, or the more advanced, they will offer the right instruction that your child needs to be safe and have a blast learning to ride. The horses are show quality, not your typical overworked school horses, and the teachers understand the needs and limitations of a very young rider like my daughter. Safety is always first, and yet they had her comfortably riding off the lunge line within a few lessons. Whether your a new rider or experienced Oakridge is a five star barn in my opinion. Lisa M.
This is a wonderful riding club for ages. Great people ride and also board their horses there. Horse trails are nearby..The riding lessons are 1st rate. They have loaner helmets and calm horses and teachers. My 5 year old son has a fine time there as do I (10x his age). The rates are very reasonable with discounts for package lessons. Great environment to learn to ride. Kelsey is really great with kids and horses. She is super awesome with beginners, has several nice school horses, and is incredibly nice. The barn is a little hard to find, but it's worth the drive. Everyone there is really nice too. They teach English and Western. My husband takes lessons from Kelsey and he loves it! Jennie H.

Kelsey is THE best trainer I have ever come across, and yes I have seen many of them... she knows exactly what each of her students' strength and what they need more work on. Also the barn environment there is just amazing, you will make friends with everyone there. It's not one of those snotty children/pushy parents places. I have been put off on riding from all the other snotty barn and crazy trainers, but horseback riding is fun when you are here! Sherry X.

Kelsey and Kirby give great lessons and make sure that you were getting the most out of them, they helped me and others sooo much. I am so thankful that we found them. She is upfront and honest. She is very safety conscious and teaches everything from grooming to tacking up.

In my opinion, Oakridge Riding Club is one of the best experiences anyone of any age will have. Kelsey is a top notch trainer and instructor. She is patient with all of her students, very safety conscious, and has very safe lesson horses. She has been a horsewomen sines she was a child and has more experience than most. No snobby trainers or instructors at this club! You will learn to ride with confidence knowing you are in some of the best hands on earth. I can honestly say you will not be disappointed. Kelsey's lessons are tailored to my wife's needs. And Kelsey never lets her students out of her sight while they are riding. She does not miss anything.
